Research Presentation
A ten-minute class presentation of a prominent designer aligned with a particular design movement.The presentation should be supported with visuals and a 1500 word report of research findings. Choose a designer with a high profile so there's plenty of material to research and show how that designer contributed significantly to the "visual language" of the time and how he or she worked within the constraints of the technology of the time.

• Appropriate digital visual images (15/20)
• Good communication skills showing clarity of presentation, structure, speech and thought (10/20)
• Engaging paper, well-researched with appropriate references, and supported with images (5/20)
Assignment 2
Illustrated Essay
Compare and contrast the work of two designers from the middle or late 20th century. Choose two architects, furniture designers, interior designers or graphic designers. People who are working in the same discipline. Research and illustrate the aspects in which they have something in common and where their visual languages diverge. It would be interesting to also discuss how each of them influenced the future of design if at all.

Blog/journal Project
A design history blog that begins at the beginning of the semester and will be marked in weeks 3, 9 and 12.
Each lesson you should make a summary of the content and major issues raised and discussed and illustrate your entry with an illustration of some kind to reinforce the message. You should record your own personal thoughts and any further research you undertake towards the other 2 assignments.
